Investing in China through Shanghai - London Stock Connect

Monday 12 November 2018, from 17:00-19:00, London Stock Exchange Group, 10 Paternoster Square, London EC4M 7LS

London Stock Exchange Group is delighted to invite you to attend a briefing and panel session on “Investing in China through Shanghai – London Stock Connect” (‘the Connect’).

The Connect represents the first time Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) listed companies will be able to raise capital abroad through an instrument fully fungible with their domestic A Share, and provides a new route for global investors to access China under international trading and settlement practices. The Connect is a 2-way programme, and will also enable LSE listed companies to become the first ever foreign companies to list in mainland China.

Following the announcement earlier this year, by PBOC governor, Yi Gang, stating the intention to launch the project within 2018, the two exchanges have accelerated preparations. The Connect framework is now in place, and market participants on both sides are readying themselves to start issuing and trading.

We are now excited to share with the buy side community the details of how the Connect will work and the opportunity it represents.
